Frontera / Border – A Living Monument

_________________________________________________________________________________________ “Frontera | Border – A Living Monument”, by Mexican-Chilean-Austrian choreographer Amanda Piña, has its roots in a dance that emerged at the border between Mexico and the United States. The dance, originally devised as a conquest dance by the Spanish to depict the Christian victory over the Muslim conquerors and in which pre-Hispanic traces can also be recognised, evolved over time and later became seen as a form of resistance to colonial and neoliberal forces. In a choreography that mixes hip-hop culture, colonial tales, native practices and mysticism, Piña reminds us that the border is not only mapped on the land but is also inscribed in certain bodies more than in others.

To create the 3D effect: keep your head upright, and look at your nose tip. You need to catch the degree of the eyes crossing where the little white angels at the top coincide and the combined image takes on depth and sharpness - and maintain it.
