J’ai pleuré avec les chiens – TIME, CREATION, DESTRUCTION - Tanz im August 2022

Ausgangspunkt für das erste Gruppenstück der kanadischen Choreografin Daina Ashbee ist die Erkundung eines Gefühls: des Trosts, den wir verspüren, wenn wir unsere Hunde an uns drücken, mit unseren hündischen Gefährt:innen heulen. Inmitten von Geknurre, Gekläffe, Tränen und Rufen steigen männliche und weibliche Körper auf allen Vieren kreuz und quer übereinander und durchlaufen dabei tranceartige Zustände von Schmerz und Unterwerfung. Ashbee verweigert sich kolonialistischen und kapitalistischen Kategorien und schafft so einen Raum für Flüchtiges, Vergängliches und Entblößtes. _________________________________ Canadian choreographer Daina Ashbee’s first group piece began with the exploration of a sensation: the solace we feel in the embrace of our dogs, in howling with our canine companions. Between growling, yelps, tears and calls, female and male bodies cross and pile on all fours, passing through trance-like states of pain and submission. In rejecting colonialist and capitalist models of classification, Ashbee creates a space for the fleeting, the transitory and the exposed.
