Atelier Lefeuvre & André

Seit fast zwanzig Jahren pflegen Jean-Paul Lefeuvre und Didier André ihre eigene zirzensische Sprache und hegen ihre kompromisslose Liebe für den guten Witz. Sie verfolgen eine ebenso bescheidene wie mühsame Kunst, die eine Art von "langsamem Zirkus" darstellt. Ihr neuester Streich strebt nach einem Minimalismus, der in mühevoller Kleinarbeit jeder einzelnen der Requisiten, die sie im Schuppen gefunden haben (ein Brett, eine Schaufel, einen Vorschlaghammer...) mit ihrer staunenmachenden Geschicklichkeit Leben und Seele einhaucht, was sie zu echten Partnern werden lässt, die den beiden Schöpfern nicht selten die Schau stehlen. Ein Rechteck, das wie ein Bouleplatz oder ein Tennisplatz oder ein riesiger Billardtisch aussieht, bildet für Lefeuvre und André ihre Spielfläche, auf der jeder Einfall willkommen ist, auch wenn mancher Schabernack mit haarstreubender Gefahr verbunden sein kann. Sich weit aus dem Fenster lehnen, ohne sich selbst ernst zu nehmen, die Poesie der Absurdität und das Großartige des Nichtigen kennzeichnen die Meisterschaft der beiden, die zu den Urgesteinen des zeitgenössischen Zirkus in Europa zählen. ohne Sprache, 70 Minuten, ab 7 Jahren ___ EN It has been almost twenty years that they’ve been pulling at the blanket with a complicity that is more and more natural with every passing year. Their love of a good joke is without compromise. Year after year, Jean-Paul Lefeuvre and Didier André reaffirm their language: a form of craftwork that is both modest and laborious, giving them center ring in their ownparticular sort of “slow circus”. This new show aspires towards a minimalism that gives precedence to this brand of craftwork. Working to the bone each and every one of the props they found in the back of the shed (a board, a shovel, a sledgehammer…), they transform these everyday items with their ever-meticulous dexterity. In their careful hands, these objects are made to move, given a life, a soul and at times go even further, by becoming actual partners or, once in a while, stealing the limelight. The circle is no longer the shape these artists evolve in. Now their exploits take place in a rectangle, one that looks like a petanque ground or a tennis court or a giant pool table… In any case the rules stay the same, and are the sacred rules of the sandpit: any and all fantasy is welcome but must be applied with care. Taking themselves far without taking themselves seriously, that is the hardest task of all. Stripped of artifice, economical in motion, these two create a world of their own in which the useless argues happily with the paltry, and the absurd stretches to a laugh. Until, at the end, poetry appears as the common denominator of all those efforts in vain... ___ FR Voilà bientôt vingt ans qu’ils se tirent le maillot avec une complicité toujours plus naturelle et un amour de la blague bien faite qui ne tolère pas le compromis. Patiemment, année après année, Jean-Paul Lefeuvre et Didier André affirment leur attachement à une forme d’artisanat laborieux et modeste, faisant d’eux les adeptes d’une sorte de “slow cirque”. Ce nouveau spectacle aspire à un minimalisme qui met en scène l’esprit même de cet artisanat. Exploitant jusqu’au trognon les accessoires qu’ils ont trouvé au fond de leur atelier (une planche, une truelle, une boule de pétanque, une masse de chantier…), ils détournent ces ustensiles d’apparence banale avec une dextérité méticuleuse. Entre leurs mains, ces objets mis en mouvement et en lumière ont plus qu’une âme, ils deviennent complices, partenaires et leur volent même parfois la vedette. Le cercle n’étant plus leur rayon, ils évoluent désormais dans un rectangle qui évoque tour à tour un terrain de pétanque, un court de tennis ou un billard géant mais dont toujours le règlement intérieur est celui du bac à sable : toutes les fantaisies sont permises à condition qu’elles s’incarnent avec application.
