DJAM LEELII, a Necroromantic ist eine Solo-Performance von Djibril Sall, die Schwarzsein in eine tödliche Beziehung zum Atlantik setzt und Race als europäische Illusion entlarvt, genährt von den Todesströmungen des Kolonialismus und Kapitalismus. Mit der transformativen Energie des Ozeans verhandelt das Werk Geschichte, Migration und Vertreibung und verwandelt den Atlantik in einen utopischen Friedhof, in dem ein leises Flüstern nachhallt: „Djam leelii, das Wasser fühlt sich genau richtig an.“

DJAM LEELII, a Necroromantic is a solo performance by Djibril Sall that places Blackness in a deathly relationship with the Atlantic Ocean and exposes race as a European delusion, fueled by the deadly currents of colonialism and capitalism. With the transformative energy of the ocean, the work negotiates history, migration, and displacement, transforming the Atlantic into a utopian cemetery where a soft whisper lingers: “Djam leelii, the water feels just right.”
